Toilet Paper Tube Butterfly Craft

We’ve been learning about butterflies this week. I came across this lovely toilet paper tube butterfly craft and thought it would be fun to do with the children. I didn’t have a toilet paper tube so I cut a paper towel roll to toilet paper roll size. It worked out just fine. Here’s how we did it:

Supplies

  1. Colored card stock
  2. Paper shaper
  3. Stickers
  4. Glue
  5. Google eyes
  6. Marker

I cut out and the children glued colored card stock onto the paper towel tube. While the children were gluing the card stock onto the tube, I cut the colored card stock out into the shape of a butterfly and antenna. Each child decorated their butterfly using stickers, markers and flower shapes I punched out using a paper shaper. Each child glued the card stock covered tube onto the center of their decorated butterfly, added smiles with the marker, google eyes and antenna using glue.
